True to the founding members’ vision the Invitational Exhibition was one of the most extraordinary collections of Sunshine Coast artists' work ever assembled. It brought together, from private collections and studios, the works of sixteen painters, sculptors, carvers, photographers, and quilters.

sometimes reflecting the natural beauty of our environment, sometimes bringing into focus wonders heretofore unseen.

Most of the artists were well-known on the Coast, and Gallery visitors were pleased to see new works by artists from whom we have come to expect excellence.

A few of the artists had never exhibited their work and it is significant that they had been ‘discovered’ for this opening Exhibition.
